Workspaces and team members

A workspace is your Patcherly home for a client, project, or company. Everything inside it — targets, errors, billing, and teammates — stays together and separate from your other workspaces.

One account, several workspaces

You might use Patcherly in more than one place at once. For example:

  • You run an agency and each client has their own workspace.
  • A client invited you to their workspace while you still manage your own.

You can be the owner (workspace admin) of several workspaces you created. Each workspace has one owner. When someone invites you, you join as a team member — not as a second owner.

Switch between workspaces

If you belong to more than one workspace, open the workspace menu in the top bar and pick the one you want to work in.

After you switch, the dashboard shows only that workspace’s targets, errors, and billing. Switch again anytime — nothing is deleted when you move between workspaces.

Invite someone to your team

Who can invite: the workspace owner, or a team member with full workspace access (see below).

  1. Go to Profile → Team.
  2. Enter your colleague’s email address and send the invite.
  3. They receive an email with an Accept invitation link.
  4. After they accept, they appear on the Team page as a member.
  5. Open their row on the Team page to choose what they’re allowed to do (approve fixes, add targets, view metrics, and so on).

Invites always add members. Patcherly does not create a second owner through an invite.

Deleting your account: invited teammates remove only their personal login — the workspace they joined is not deleted. Workspace owners follow Data export and account deletion (including deleting extra owned workspaces before account deletion when you own more than one).

Join a workspace you were invited to

  1. Open the invitation email from Patcherly.
  2. Click Accept invitation (or the button with the same meaning).
  3. Sign in if you are not already, or create an account with that email address.
  4. You land in the workspace as a member. Use the top-bar workspace menu if you need to switch between this workspace and any others you belong to.

What team members can do

Members see the same pages as the owner — Errors, Targets, Metrics, and so on. Buttons for actions they are not allowed to perform are hidden or greyed out.

If this is turned on… They can…
Manage targets Add and edit targets, install connectors, approve device pairing
Approve fixes Approve, dismiss, or restore errors
Apply fixes Send approved fixes to the connector
Rollback Roll back a patch on the server
View metrics Open Business Metrics
Manage chat integrations Connect Slack, Discord, Teams, or an other-webhook URL in Profile → Notifications
Full workspace access Manage billing, invites, and the Team page (like an owner for day-to-day admin, but they remain a member)

The owner can change these toggles anytime on Profile → Team.

Agencies with many clients

Create a separate workspace for each client when you sign up or add a new workspace from the dashboard. You stay the owner of each workspace you create.

If a client invites you into their workspace, you join there as a member only. Your agency workspaces and their workspace stay separate — use the top-bar menu to move between them.
