Payment Methods¶
Patcherly supports multiple payment methods for your convenience. This guide explains how to manage your payment methods and billing information.
Supported Payment Methods¶
Credit/Debit Cards¶
We accept all major credit and debit cards:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Discover
Cards are processed securely through Stripe, our payment processor.
PayPal¶
PayPal payments are supported for:
- PayPal account balance
- PayPal Credit
- Linked bank accounts
- Linked credit/debit cards
Adding a Payment Method¶
Step 1: Access Billing Settings¶
- Log in to your Patcherly dashboard
- Navigate to Settings → Billing
- Click "Add Payment Method"
Step 2: Enter Payment Details¶
For Credit/Debit Cards: - Enter card number - Enter expiration date - Enter CVV (security code) - Enter cardholder name - Enter billing address
For PayPal: - Click "Pay with PayPal" - You'll be redirected to PayPal to authorize the payment - Return to Patcherly after authorization
Step 3: Set as Default (Optional)¶
- Check "Set as default payment method" if you want this to be used for automatic renewals
- You can change your default payment method at any time
Managing Payment Methods¶
Viewing Payment Methods¶
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Scroll to Payment Methods section
- View all saved payment methods
Updating Payment Methods¶
- Click "Edit" next to the payment method
- Update the information
- Click "Save"
Removing Payment Methods¶
- Click "Remove" next to the payment method
- Confirm removal
- Note: You cannot remove your default payment method if you have an active subscription
Setting Default Payment Method¶
- Click "Set as Default" next to any payment method
- The selected method will be used for all future charges
Payment Security¶
- PCI DSS Compliant: All card information is processed securely through Stripe
- Encrypted Storage: Payment methods are encrypted and stored securely
- No Card Storage: We never store full card numbers on our servers
- Tokenization: Card information is tokenized for maximum security
Payment Processing¶
Automatic Renewals¶
- Subscriptions automatically renew using your default payment method
- You'll receive an email notification before each renewal
- Renewals occur on the same day each month/year based on your billing cycle
Failed Payments¶
If a payment fails:
- Email Notification: You'll receive an email about the failed payment
- Retry Attempts: We'll automatically retry the payment (usually 3 times)
- Account Status: Your account will remain active during the retry period
- Service Suspension: If all retry attempts fail, your subscription may be suspended
Updating Failed Payments¶
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click "Update Payment Method" if you see a failed payment notice
- Update your payment information
- The system will automatically retry the payment
Billing Address¶
Your billing address is used for:
- Payment verification
- Tax calculations
- Invoice generation
Updating Billing Address¶
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click "Edit Billing Address"
- Update your address information
- Click "Save"
Currency¶
- Default Currency: USD (US Dollars)
- Supported Currencies: Based on your region and payment method
- Currency Conversion: Handled automatically by your payment provider
Payment History¶
View your payment history:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Scroll to Payment History section
- View all past transactions
- Download receipts and invoices
Troubleshooting¶
Payment Method Declined¶
- Check Card Details: Verify card number, expiration, and CVV
- Contact Bank: Some banks block international transactions
- Insufficient Funds: Ensure your account has sufficient funds
- Expired Card: Update your card expiration date
PayPal Authorization Issues¶
- Check PayPal Account: Ensure your PayPal account is active
- Verify Email: The email must match your Patcherly account email
- Contact PayPal: If issues persist, contact PayPal support
Payment Not Processing¶
- Check Internet Connection: Ensure you have a stable connection
- Try Different Browser: Some browsers may have compatibility issues
- Clear Cache: Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Contact Support: If problems persist, contact our support team
