Upgrading Your Plan

This guide explains how to upgrade your Patcherly subscription plan to access more features and higher limits.

When to Upgrade

Consider upgrading if you:

  • Need more targets (applications) than your current plan allows
  • Are running out of monthly fix quota
  • Need advanced features like automated testing or priority support
  • Want to scale your error management across multiple applications

How to Upgrade

Step 1: Access Billing Settings

  1. Log in to your Patcherly dashboard
  2. Navigate to SettingsBilling
  3. Review your current plan and available upgrades

Step 2: Select Your New Plan

  1. Click "Upgrade Plan" or "Change Plan" button
  2. Review the plan comparison table
  3. Select the plan that best fits your needs — see the Pricing page for current features and limits

Step 3: Complete Payment

  1. Review the plan features and pricing
  2. Enter your payment information (if not already on file)
  3. Confirm the upgrade

Upgrade Effects

Immediate Changes

  • New plan features are available immediately
  • Higher limits take effect right away
  • Billing cycle adjusts to your new plan

Billing

  • Prorated charges: When you change plan (upgrade or downgrade) via Manage billing (Stripe), Stripe adjusts the amount based on what's left in your current billing period: you get credit for unused time on the old plan and are charged for the remainder at the new plan rate (or the reverse for downgrades). You are not charged the full new plan price on top of what you already paid.
  • Next billing date: Your next full billing cycle starts on your regular billing date
  • Invoice: Stripe will generate an invoice and send it to your email; you can also view and download it from ProfileBillingPayment history

Plan Limits

Each upgrade increases your target limit, fix quota, and unlocks additional features. For a detailed comparison of what each plan includes, visit the Pricing page.

Some features that may require a paid plan or upgrade: - Auto-analysis: Automatically analyze errors without manual approval (per-target toggle) - Auto-approval: Auto-approve high-confidence fixes - Advanced analytics: Detailed metrics and usage insights - Automated testing (Agent Testing): Run tests after fixes are applied - Custom AI: Choose AI providers and use your own API keys - Custom log paths: Include additional log files in context collection

What Happens to Your Data

  • All existing data is preserved
  • Current errors and fixes remain accessible
  • Metrics and history are maintained
  • Targets and configurations are unchanged

Changing plan when you're already on a paid plan (upgrade or downgrade)

Use the Stripe Customer Portal so your subscription is updated correctly and charges are prorated:

  1. Go to ProfileBilling
  2. Click "Manage billing (Stripe)" to open the Stripe Customer Portal (opens in a new tab)
  3. In the portal, change your plan or cancel
  4. For plan changes: Prorated charges apply immediately (credit for unused time, charge for the new plan for the rest of the period). For cancellation: Access continues until the end of your current billing period, then the plan ends.

Do not use the public pricing page to "upgrade" if you already have a subscription—that is for new subscriptions only. Always use Manage billing (Stripe) to switch or cancel your plan.

Important: If you have more targets than the new plan allows, you'll need to remove excess targets before downgrading.

If your renewal payment fails

If we're unable to charge your payment method at renewal, you'll receive an email with a link to update your payment method or cancel your subscription (Stripe billing portal). We recommend updating your payment so your subscription continues without interruption. If payment continues to fail after several attempts, your plan may be moved to Free and some features limited (excess targets are disabled, not deleted; your data is preserved).

Trial Period

If you're on a free trial:

  • Upgrading during trial does not end your trial
  • You'll have full access to the new plan features
  • Trial period continues as normal
  • No charges until trial ends

Payment Methods

We accept:

  • Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
  • PayPal: PayPal account payments
  • Annual Billing: Annual plans may offer savings — see the Pricing page
